AUGUST 16, 2010, CORONADO, CA -- The long-awaited, new book, GPS For Success: Goals and Proven Strategies, co-authored by George Thorne, Dr. Stephen Covey (7 Habits of Highly Successful People) and John Gray (Men Are From Mars, Women Are From Venus), will be featured at a book signing presentation by local resident, George Thorne at Bay Books , next Thursday, August 26th at 6:30 p.m.
The three authors, along with other leading experts, provide rich insights into their own areas of specialization under the GPS umbrella. Thorne, president of One Voice Research, Planning and Development, reveals why at least 90% of companies, small, medium and large, unnecessarily lose 20%-50% in sales annually and what they can do to correct this condition.
Thorne has worked with hundreds of companies across America, been a columnist with Ad Age’s Business Marketing magazine and won dozens of awards for marketing, advertising and direct marketing programs. Among his case studies:one of his client/companies successfully emerged from bankruptcy to become extremely successful, without an infusion of new capital. Another: management was able to triple sales in three years and take the company public.
Twelve years of research, planning, and development led Thorne, former owner of his own 4AAAS’s advertising agency (American Association of Advertising Agencies), to create the copyrighted One Voice system. The key is gettting everything - the 7 Points of PowerSM- in alignment with the customer’s key buying needs, so that the organization has the greatest chance to increase sales and profits. Imagine a football team where half the team has a game plan, and the rest are doing something else. Everyone top to bottom must be focused on the customer. It is just like baking a cake. Leave out one ingredient, like the flour, and the cake falls flat. Same is true with everyone’s role in the company today.
Thorne’s sons, Ben and Geoffey, played football and baseball at Coronado HS. His wife Mary Ellen is a staff attorney at San Diego Superior Court. Ben is now a senior at University of San Diego and Geoffrey is now attending law school at University of California at Berkely.
