Sacred Heart Church Offers Live Internet Masses at Christmas and on Weekends

The first Sunday of Advent in November, Sacred Heart Parish began live Internet broadcasts of its weekend Masses and special events such as first communions and confirmation.

Pastor Father Michael Murphy said, “Our new outreach has many benefits. Though it does not satisfy the obligation to participate in Mass on Sunday, it does offer those who are homebound, for illness or other reasons, the opportunity to remain connected to our faith community and the local Church.”

In addition, Sacred Heart has many parishioners serving in the military around the world. According to Father Murphy, the live streaming will allow them to stay in touch with the parish as their families await their safe return.

Further, the Internet outreach gives extended family members of parishioners the chance to see their grandchildren, nieces, and nephews participating in special liturgies like the parish school’s Christmas Pageant.

Regular weekend Masses are broadcast live at 5:30 pm Saturday, and 7:30 am, 9:00 am and 11:00 am Sunday.
