"... Peter Terezakis' light installation powerfully suggests heat lightning fragmenting the desert's night air..." -- The New York Times, 2000

The Coronado Unified School District (CUSD) has earned a prestigious Access to Artistic Excellence grant from the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) for Coronado School of the Arts (CoSA) to produce Peter Terezakis’ event Sacred Sky, Sacred Earth: Coronado.

Actors, dancers, musicians, singers, and visual artists from the Coronado School of the Arts (CoSA) will collaborate with Terezakis to create this site-specific series of experiences.

CoSA’s talented students will guide audience members through the moving meditation of Sacred Sky Sacred Earth: Coronado. This is the fourth installation of Terezakis’ work celebrating the beauty of nature on Coronado and part of a 20-year body of art, technology, and environmental art.

The event combines dance, music, ritual, theatre, and visual art as a means to reintegrate man’s awareness to the sanctity of the natural world.

Student contributions will be directed by CoSA faculty and by professional guest artists including choreographers Allyson Green, Betzi Roe, and
Sadie Weinberg
, and master percussionist John Flood.   Sacred Sky Sacred Earth: Coronado is Betzi Roe's ninth collaboration with Peter Terezakis, and their fourth on Coronado.

Please be prepared to follow the performance’s events on uneven sand
and to respect both the beach and the spirit of the event by not littering.
