Coronado nightlife after 8pm?

It does get a little sedate here, especially in winter, doesn't it...!

I like to have dinner parties, although it's been too long since our last one.

The quiet of Coronado nights has always been a blessing more than a curse for me.

A nice night walk down to Dog Beach can be nice - too bad you can't have your dogs by the fire rings, that would be perfect.

Miguel's Cocina with your buddies for a late dinner in the evenings under the heat lamps on the patio can be a great simple night out, full of laughter, and talk with the staff, who are all like family to many of us locals.

Yeah - When in doubt in Coronado - EAT.

Chance Bistro can be great - sitting out front there is always a great place to bump into old friends that you haven't seen while having a bite to eat with the love of your life.

If you stopped by the Brig for Happy Hour and a a walk down someplace for coffee, while checking out what the bookstore had on sale, you might wander down eventually to Nite'n'Day Cafe and have a big plate of fries like we did as kids, and get caught up with the young military folks that are probably doiing the same thing.

If you are social, there is always someone on the main drag to yak with here.

Night Time is the Right Time - to exercise.

Dancing is fine, but sometimes a casual run around the island can be great - or if the knees aren't what they used to be, hop an evening ride on your beat-up cruiser, down to the pool for a bout of laps, and take another route back home. - I haven't done that in a long time - with the new pool in the middle of town I am terribly confused about the schedules of the same - Oh well, I am sure it will iron out. There is always the ocean too for the brave souls who don't mind the cold.

Can you tell me the etiquitte regarding the fire rings? I'm visiting for a few days, alone, but I would love to enjoy a warm ocean side fire! Are people pretty welcoming, or does one need to know the people around the fire?

I think it's fine to join...just be sure to bring some 'smores supplies and you're good. I would never kick out a stranger that wanted to join in on the fire fun.

I think that's about right, brother.

As long as folks don't look like they are having a private date or family time or such, you might approach the fire and ask if you can warm up for just a minute (and mean it) and strike up a conversation. Go with your gut.

I've never turned anyone away, but i tend to be gregarious.

This time of year, there are usually open rings, and a couple bags of firewood from Albertsons or some scrap found in the alleys can get you in business mighty quickly. I've been lazy lately around my chiminea, but early spring fires on the beach with a night swim under the moonlight can be mighty nice.

Enjoy your stay, Miss Scattergood! Alone in Coronado - Ack! Rule Number One is always bring a Sweetheart or a buddy - LOL...!

Get yourself a warm blankie and go down to the Fairy Landing and get a giant Mocha and relax down there by the beach in the evening - very relaxing, and very secure for a single lady.
