Vigilucci's is located at 1300 Orange Avenue next to the famous Hotel del Coronado.
The newest restaurant in the Vigilucci's Restaurant Group, Vigilucci’s Ristorante Coronado features an exceptional menu of Italian favorites, certified prime steaks and the freshest seafood. The restaurant’s dog-friendly patio overlooks bustling Orange Avenue, while indoors, elegant decor includes a wall-to-wall waterfall and ocean and Point Loma views. Private dining space is available for large or small groups. Our elegant martini lounge and piano bar enhance the dining experience.
In addition Vigilucci's has a full bar and happy hour is offered Monday-Friday 3-6 pm, Sat-Sun 11-5pm. Masculine wood lines the custom made granite bar and lounge, where weekend nights tunes of the "Rat Pack" can be heard live on our baby grand piano. Vigilucci's advertises itself as a chop house but their extensive menu also contains many many pasta and seafood dishes. Our first visit I had the special: petit filet, swordfish, seared ahi AND shrimp. The filet was incredibly tender and flavorful, and I'm not sure how they prepared the shrimp but they were some of the best shrimp I've ever had. Vigilucci's also has a LARGE wine menu, with many choices from California and Italy.
The decor is slightly on the dark side, but nothing gloomy. We were in the Oceano room and had a nice view out towards the beach. Yes, they have live piano playing, maybe a bit loud, but not too much. The restaurant is upscale but we walked in wearing jeans and had no problems, the staff made us feel very much at home.
Save rooom for dessert, they have any number of iems on the dessert menu that will leave you salivating.
It's going to take more than a few trips to try out everything we liked on the menu.
