Dolphin friends

I remember sitting on the ferry years ago, watching pods of dolphins in the bay. So glad they are seen again.

Having grown up in Coronado, I loved seeing the dolphins swimming along First Street by the Bay Club...it was awesome! Everyone walking by just stood still and enjoyed them....

Having grown up in Nado and having been a part of Coronado Yacht Club I remember rowing around Glorietta Bay in a small boat and seeing the huge manta rays (some of them almost as big as the boat) gliding underneath us. I don't remember any dolphin pods though but there was way more sea life in that bay back in the 60's. The last several times that I have visited during the winter I've seen plenty of pods while surfing off the Shores.

In the 50's & early 60's almost every time we took the ferry across the bay it was accompanied by dolphins. We just expected it and took it for granted. The dolphins just loved swimming to and fro across the bow of the ferry.
