A phenomena called "The Moon Illusion" makes the moon appear larger to the eye than it really is. Especially the "Super Moon". It is still beautiful, but it takes a powerful telephoto lens to duplicate the apparent size, so here it doesn't seem so "super". Also last night, because it was so late before breaking through the clouds, it was impossible to capture any detail in the moon as it was way overexposed. Good thing there were lots of other things around too!
