What are some things you love about Coronado? Favorite places on the island?
The beach the beach the beach, 4th of July, Concerts in the Park, Christmas Open House. And my favorite beach spot is. . . . . not telling - it's nice and quiet and I like it that way.

Hi Julie. It's true. It was a Halloween night specifically geared to CORONADO CHILDREN. How refreshing that was. And yet, I don't know if it could be done today. Most certainly we would be accused of discriminatory actions. ... The other thing that bugs me is that, even though Garage Sales are still sourced from the Coronado Journal/Eagle, and they are still on Thursday mornings, the newspaper now comes out on Wednesday instead of the morning of the sales. So we have the same situation as we have with Halloween. In the old days you stood in line at the Journal office on Loma and waited for them to open. Then you waited your turn to plop a quarter down on the counter and get your newspaper. At that point the streets were probably safer during one of the Outlaw Bike Races that at that particular Thursday moment, as little old ladies in gigantic Cadillacs and Pontiacs raced through the streets and alleys looking for the best deal. BUT, it was a fair playing field, and we no longer have that. Now you arrive at the time stated in the paper, and everything good has already been swooped up. Oh well. At least we have our memories ...
