Each week Coronado Unified School District Superintendent Dr. Jeffrey Felix pens the "Coronado Communique" to highlight events and programs happening in the district.

The big news of this week's communique is the dedication of the CHS yearbook to Aida Diaz, Adult Ed and ROP Instructional Specialist. Mrs. Diaz has worked for CUSD in various positions for over 35 years. This year's book not only highlights the events of the past year, but also draws a connection on…

Hi Kellee,

Your guess for mystery photo 26 is correct. I'm getting lots of correct guesses...so I'm assuming this one was too easy. I'll have a harder one for you next week. Thanks for playing.

BTW...please have your daughter email me with her suggestions for the mystery photo of the week. I would LOVE to have them and whichever images I use...I will give her full credit online. Thanks for telling me. I'm glad your both having fun with it.

Hi Kellee,

Thanks for the article. The class was very beneficial to all those in attendance. Many ladies left here feeling more confident and aware of potential threats. We had our youngest student (only 10) up to 40 years plus. I love watching students feel empowered. I believe all girls heading to college must attend a self defense class. People invest $30,000 - $40,000 a year to send their child to a university, often a 1000 miles away, with no training. I really don't understand how people can't make a 3 hour investment in their child's safety. As a father of a daughter - I really don't understand. Parents - Please enroll your child in a self defense class either at Coronado Training Center or any other studio that offers such a program.
