Opinion: No Flag At Centennial Park

Posted on November 2, 2012 at 8:00am 20 Comments

I am displeased to hear of the Post District's plan to hoist a huge flagpole at the City of Coronado's Centennial Park at the foot of Orange Avenue.   Such an oversized object will certainly diminish the current open panorama of historic toll booth, rose garden park, bay, city skyline and sky. Posted on August 17, 2012 at 6:00am 5 Comments

Yesterday afternoon, NASNI police officers detained a community resident reportedly to be a retired senior Naval Officer, in front of his home on the 100 black of F Avenue. Neighbors reported that the man was forcibly taken to the ground by the NASNI officers. After calls were made to the Coronado PD,  3-4 units were dispatched to the scene at which time city officers appeared to join in the mayhem.

A question of jurisdiction: Do NASNI Officers have the authority to make a…

Hey Kim. Just saw the note about the organ. No home found yet, and time is running out. Other options would have been Hotel del's Crown Room mezzanine loft, where the orchestra once played, one of several churches in town, an underground storage room beneath the concert area in Spreckels Park (with a lift to engage it before concerts or for weddings, or just concert performances), or even the old Glorietta Bay Inn, where it was originally.
