A Thank You to the Coronado Tunnel Commission

I just left the Council Meeting and witnessed the official vote to shut down the Coronado Tunnel Commission (CTC) -- my family and I would like to take this opportunity to express to all the Tunnel Commissioners our most sincere and fervent thanks for their time, thoughtfulness and energy that they have extended to their City. You were all appointed without any knowledge of what laid ahead of you; but you were all very eager to serve your City and you took the time to learn, seek facts,…See More

Profile Information

How are you connected to Coronado?
I'm a Coronado local.
What are some things you love about Coronado? Favorite places on the island?
I love the City and the community of wonderful people. I love that we are all connected somehow because we share the same passion and love for Coronado. It is so delightful to know that when you walk out in front of your home, on main street or anywhere for that matter that you will always run into someone you know! How fantastic is that???
How did you hear about eCoronado.com?
Joe Ditler - He told me about Louise Galpin's interview. Louise and her two lovely daughters - Lily and Susan- stayed at our guesthouse. They turned out to be the most wonderful people and hope that this will be a lasting friendship that will continue to grow.

Mrs. Louise Beasley Galpin will be remembered!

Posted on April 28, 2010 at 9:30am 0 Comments

I was just informed by Susan Galpin of her mom's passing away (see message below). I befriended Mrs. Louise Beasley Galpin only two years ago, but we hit it off so well! We had lots in common to talk about - she entered and volunteered in the Coronado Flower Show in the mid-1930's - she even saved and treasured her Red ribbon that she won, in Bottle Arrangement and was very proud to share it with me (I have attached her certificate signed by Mrs. Armand Jessop to this blog). Louise was a native… Continue

The tunnel issue is not a 3rd or 4th street issue - it is a Coronado issue!

The tunnel issue is not a 3rd or 4th street issue - it is a Coronado

issue. When we have our main arteries clogged and bottlenecked due to a

huge requirement of traffic flow from one area of the island, it

affects all of us insidiously in so many ways. The speed alone of

vehicles that rev up their cars on the highway 75 (on their way to work)

is so deadly for pedestrians and bikes, etc; people who are in traffic

only have urgency on their minds and loose their… Continue
