Pertussis Immunization Required for School - It's the Law

For Coronado residents, Dr. Yassini is providing whooping cough (Tdap) vaccinations for $49 plus a $10 administration fee. Same day appointments are available.  Just call 619-522-4005 and mention the eCoronado.com special. All students entering 7th, 8th,9th, 10th, 11th, or 12th grade are now required by law to have Whooping Cough Vaccination.  This was in response to the serious problems whooping cough infections last year.  More information about Whooping Cough can be found at:…See More

Whooping Cough in California

So far this year there have been 5978 cases of Pertussis reported (including 10 infant deaths) throughout California. We haven’t seen this many since 1950 when 6,613 cases were reported.The California Department of Public Health is recommending all Californians 10 yrs and older receive a booster shot known as TDaP.TDaP vaccination should be covered by insurance so see your doctor. Experts at the CDC tell us flu is likely to continue for months caused by either 2009 H1N1 viruses or regular seasonal flu viruses.
