We've lived up here in the Northern Tier for over 20 years, having left California in 1990. My spouse is a physician here, and my youngest is East Class of '13! (Oldest is a Marshall grad) I retired from the Navy in '03. Miss my home town very much, and I still share ownership of our family home in "H" Avenue; but we find the life up here to be equally fulfilling, especially the seasonal variations and the sense of space and less-hurried pace. Nice thing about Duluth is that it's a seaport and has seagulls and foghorns, so I still have the "big water" feel. I'll be contacting City Hall to score a license plate holder; may get a "loon" plate to fit it!
