I'm a Coronado local.
What are some things you love about Coronado? Favorite places on the island?
Coronado Island still blows my mind every time I cross the bridge and realize that this is my home. Some of my favorite things include: beaches, parks, library, community center, theatre, tennis courts, mainstreet and bumping into friends and neighbors everywhere I go. My family is safe here in Coronado and it feels like a big playground - for adults and kids alike. I truly love Coronado and could not image every living anywhere else!

2015 Community Landscape Judging Results

Community Landscapes is a Division of the Coronado Flower Show, which is produced and staged annually by the Coronado Floral Association. One of the stated CFA objectives is to "encourage the beautification of the community; including homes, schools and public grounds."

Coronado Street Maintenance and Bicycle Markings Questionnaire

Have you heard about the Street Maintenance and Bicycle Markings project?  The City of Coronado is beginning to design this year's Street Preventive Maintenance project.  During construction, the project will fix minor potholes and place a "slurry seal" along the pavement on several streets scheduled for regular maintenance.

The City of Coronado has begun using a new service to help residents access important, valuable community information when they need it, using the latest technology. Coronado will create and publish messages through Nixle. Nixle will then deliver this information instantly through text, email (see sample below) and web message to those community members who sign up for the service. Two Regattas for Sailors with Disabilities to Benefit Challenged Sailors San Diego in April

Saturday and Sunday, April 11-12, sailors with disabilities in Martin 16 sailboats will race 8 nautical miles to Chula Vista and back in the Challenged Sailors San Diego 2015 Dash to Chula Vista hosted by Chula Vista Yacht Club.  

The following weekend, April 18-19 will see the Martin 16s race to Glorietta Bay and back in the Kyle C. McArthur Memorial Regatta at Coronado Yacht Club.

Each regatta will start near the east end of Harbor Island at 12:00pm on…

Dessert-wise, I have to say Nado-Gelato is one of my favorites. It's the only place to go for authentic italian ice cream, and the entire staff is incredibly friendly.

One of the most difficult things about going out for dessert is that there's almost always someone who "just wants some coffee." Nado Gelato also serves coffee, which is roasted right here in Coronado as well. (Blue Bridge Coffee) They really know their way around the espresso machine, so you can enjoy an incredible latte with or without your cup of gelato.
