Thomas Garrett, 71, Is Retired San Diego Firefighter, Helped Found Event For Make-A-Wish Foundation
SAN DIEGO -- A retired San Diego firefighter former Coronado Yacht Club commodore was arrested Friday and is accused of molesting two children.
Thomas Garrett, 71, was a one-time commodore of the Coronado Yacht Club and works closely with the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

CORONADO, CA (February 3, 2012) – The California Department of Transportation, which manages State Highways 75 and 282 in Coronado, reports that beginning Monday, work crews will be repairing potholes and making other street repairs along Orange Avenue and on Third Street.
Traffic will be impacted by the work. Workers are expected to close some lanes while the work proceeds. Caltrans hopes to finish the work in one week.

For the most part, the city of Coronado embraces its neighbor just down the road.
But now Coronado finds itself in the uncomfortable position of challenging North Island Naval Air Station over a still-confidential accident and noise zone plan that will not be released until the Department of Defense signs off this year.
“Part of the difficulty is we just don’t know what it’s going to tell us to do,” said Coronado Councilman Michael Woiwode.
