What are some things you love about Coronado? Favorite places on the island?
Coronado Island still blows my mind every time I cross the bridge and realize that this is my home. Some of my favorite things include: beaches, parks, library, community center, theatre, tennis courts, mainstreet and bumping into friends and neighbors everywhere I go. My family is safe here in Coronado and it feels like a big playground - for adults and kids alike. I truly love Coronado and could not image every living anywhere else!

Roundabout Construction Nearing End - Roads to Open Early August (Video)

Man featured on CNN's 'The Hunt' killed during attempted arrest (crime took place in Coronado)

New York (CNN)
 -- A suspected sex offender recently featured on CNN's "The Hunt" with John Walsh was killed Monday in Manhattan while police were attempting to arrest him on child molestation charges, according to two New York law enforcement sources.

Charles Mozdir, 32, had been sought by authorities since June 2012.

Coronado wins fight over redevelopment money

 — The city of Coronado can keep $5.8 million originally intended for its now-defunct redevelopment fund and it has the right to try and recoup an additional $32.6 million in redevelopment loans, a Superior Court judge has ruled.

Dessert-wise, I have to say Nado-Gelato is one of my favorites. It's the only place to go for authentic italian ice cream, and the entire staff is incredibly friendly.

One of the most difficult things about going out for dessert is that there's almost always someone who "just wants some coffee." Nado Gelato also serves coffee, which is roasted right here in Coronado as well. (Blue Bridge Coffee) They really know their way around the espresso machine, so you can enjoy an incredible latte with or without your cup of gelato.
