Coronado Schools Lockdown Lifted

The following information was received by eCoronado.com from the city of Coronado:

8:54 am  Report of a male possibly carrying rifle in 500 blk of E Ave; all schools contacted; lockdown in effect. officers searching.

8:58 am PD reports officers located person; a U.S. Marshall. Lockdown is lifted.

Big Waves Hit Coronado, San Diego - Dangerous Rip Currents Expected

SAN DIEGO (CNS) - High surf, which could generate dangerous rip currents, is expected at beaches throughout San Diego County Thursday through Monday. 



National Weather Service forecasters said surf heights would build quickly today, peak late Friday, then slowly diminish Sunday through Monday. A high surf advisory will be in effect from 6 a.m. today until 1 p.m. Monday.

Celebration of Life for Robbin Adair Tomorrow at St.Paul's United Methodist Church

Robbin Adair passed away at age 67 on Tuesday, October 23rd at San Diego Hospice.  He was a high school teacher at CHS for 40 years and a pillar of this community. He will be greatly missed.

Please come to remember and celebrate Robbin's life at 4pm on Saturday, October 27th.

St. Paul's is located at 700 D Ave.

4.5 Earthquake Felt in Coronado was Centered in Ocotillo

I felt this one in Coronado, did you?



From the LA Times:

A shallow magnitude 4.5 earthquake was reported Tuesday morning 10 miles from Ocotillo , according to the U.S. Geological Survey. The temblor occurred at 1:28 a.m. PDT at a depth of 4.3 miles.

According to the USGS, the epicenter was 13 miles from Jacumba Hot Springs, 22 miles from Pine Valley, 35 miles from El Centro and 54 miles from Tijuana.
