Every year, in the January/February time frame, the base assembles an average of 300 volunteers to clean-up threatened and endangered species nesting areas. CORONADO — At low tide, in the sands beneath the towering Coronado Shores condominiums, lie signs of buried pleasure.
Recent storms have temporarily washed away layers of beach that usually entomb the remains of an old gambling ship called the S.S. Monte Carlo, which ran aground 73 years ago. Swimmers warned away from wreckage of ship
