Former Coronado sailor pleads guilty to fed theft charge‎

SAN DIEGO — A former gunner’s mate who worked in an armory pleaded guilty Thursday to a federal charge of illegally exporting stolen military equipment.

Phillip Andro Jamison, 31, pleaded guilty to one of six federal counts against him when he appeared in U.S. District Court in San Diego.

Coronado Fire: 950 Cabrillo Avenue (Photos)

Around 6:30pm last night, a fire broke out at a home located at 950 Cabrillo Avenue.  Early reports suggest that it started from a faulty water heater.  There was substantial damage to the home and firefighters had to cut holes in the roof to increase ventilation while they battled the fire.  Fortunately, no injuries were reported and the fire was put out quickly.
