Coronado Hires Interim Public Services Director

Coronado, CA (December 15, 2011) – The City of Coronado has appointed former Encinitas City Manager Lauren M. Wasserman to the position of interim Director of Public Services until a permanent replacement can be found for Scott Huth.

CHS Students Raise Money for a Borehole Water Well Project in Uganda



The Coronado High School Islanders for Quench and Connect Club held a Harvest dinner for 65 guests at the Coronado Yacht Club on Sunday, November 20th. The dinner was well attended by teachers from CHS, the club members families, and residents of Coronado. Coronado High School Students -- KFC offers a $20,000 Scholarship for Winning Tweet

Kentucky Fried Chicken is offering a $20,000 scholarship to "one student who embodies Colonel Sanders' Dedication to Community and Education"  From December 1 through 13, 2011, a high school senior can follow KFC on Twitter @KFC_Colonel, and submit an application in the form of a tweeted photo, including #KFCScholar in the tweet.

Coronadans Enjoy the Parade of Lights off the Ferry Landing

The parade of lights is an evening of festivity on the water.  Boats 'dress up' their masts, and bodies as sleds, christmas trees, and a showing of The Delorian from Back to the Future.  Music ranged from Christmas jingles to Hanukkah favorites (Adam Sandler style), and lots of 80s tracks like 'Back in Time.'
