One of the best ways to get from Coronado to Downtown San Diego is to take the Coronado Ferry. You can buy tickets from an automated machine on the Ferry Landing pier.
As of January 3, 2011, adult tickets are $4.25 each way and children under 3 are free. Bikes are allowed at no extra cost.

CORONADO — The Coronado Unified School District is projecting a $2.4 million deficit in next year’s $26 million budget, not including potential midyear cuts from the state.
The district saw a budget shortfall of $2.1 million this year, prompting it to cut $1.5 million in spending through furloughs and class size increases. Adult education was cut in half.

CORONADO, Calif. -- A man's body was found on a beach at North Island Naval Air Station Wednesday, authorities reported.
A U.S. Coast Guard pollution inspector was working in the area when he came across the body about 500 yards away from Zuniga Point Jetty about 8:45 a.m., USCG Petty Officer Henry Dunphy said. The corpse appeared to have washed ashore, according to Dunphy.
