Coronado Receives $630,000 Grant for Boating Facility Improvements

CORONADO, CA (January 19, 2012) – The City of Coronado has been awarded a $630,000 grant from the California Boating and Waterways Commission for improvements to the Glorietta Bay Boat Launching Facility.



     State Boating and Waterways commissioners approved two grants totaling $1.25 million at its meeting on January 18 in Santa Barbara. Coronado resident Doug Metz, a commissioner, attended the meeting.

Coronadans Enjoy the Parade of Lights off the Ferry Landing

The parade of lights is an evening of festivity on the water.  Boats 'dress up' their masts, and bodies as sleds, christmas trees, and a showing of The Delorian from Back to the Future.  Music ranged from Christmas jingles to Hanukkah favorites (Adam Sandler style), and lots of 80s tracks like 'Back in Time.'
