Coronado Mayor Selected to be ABC's Candidate for "The Bachelor"



ABC announced that the next candidate for The Bachelor is 36-year-old Coronado Mayor and Coronado High School teacher Casey Tanaka.   Since 2001, The Bachelor  television show has been a hit with viewers around the globe and they are excited that, for the first time, a city official will be in the "hot seat" this season.

Lifetime Local Bruce Johnson Finds $410,000 in Silver Coins from S.S. Monte Carlo Wreckage

This is the kind of breaking news that makes you gasp in astonishment and become green with jealousy...

Coronado Closes Orange Avenue to Cars: Pedestrians & Pedals Prevail

Coronado City Council voted 5-0 to close Orange Avenue to all motorized vehicles for the entire month of April 2011 starting today.



The vote was applauded by the People for Pedestrians & Pedals (PPP) and has been lauded as a major step towards reducing traffic along Orange Avenue while making Coronado a much more friendly city for pedestrians and bicycles.  Local business owners are divided on whether this will hurt or help their Orange Avenue…

Coronado Island Changes Name to Coronado Peninsula

After years of public outcry and debate from visitors and local residents, Coronado's City Council voted unanimously 5-0 to change the city name from Coronado Island to Coronado Peninsula.
