Coronado Beach Retired from Dr. Beach List - Doesn't Qualify for Top 10 List





Dr. Beach announced his top 10 Beaches for America and Coronado was not on the list.  Coronado Beach was named #1 beach last year, but per Dr. Beach's rules, does not qualify for future lists.  Yes, its a bit odd as surely the list of top beaches starts to get "watered" down as the "best" ones are retired.

No Ordinary Bench - Remembering Coronado's Kristopher Krohne, USNR (1976 - 2000)



Ensign Kristopher Krohne, USNR, was killed in a T-37 plane crash during a solo training flight in 2000 at Vance Air Force Base in Enid, OK. Cancelled: Filming on Coronado Bridge Thursday, May 23 from 9am-1pm



Update - this has been cancelled:  The California Department of Transportation has issued a permit for filming on the San Diego-Coronado Bridge from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Thursday, May 23. The toll plaza will be the base for the crew and the vehicles being filmed. The California Highway Patrol will escort outbound traffic on Fourth Street from Orange Avenue to the toll plaza and hold it for approximately two minutes…

Bicycle Theft and Corrals Update from City Manager's Report - Six Arrested





Bicycle Corrals:  The City is currently awaiting the arrival of eight bicycle corrals that will be installed on various City streets near Orange Avenue. The corrals were expected to arrive this week; however, the manufacturer stated that delivery has been delayed until the week of May 27. City of Coronado Shares Scenic Bike Loop Details

Coronado is working on the next phase of its Scenic Loop for bicyclists that, once completed, will take riders on a more protected ride around the City's Village area.

Remodel of Coronado Craftsman home honors history

Coronado Leads in Rat Calls According to Union Tribune Watchdog

Coronado had a higher rate of calls for help with rats than any other area of the county, according to a U-T Watchdog review of calls made to the San Diego County Vector Control program between 2009 and March 2013.
