Ball Kid Training at San Diego’s Barnes Tennis Center is a Success

San Diego- A gathering of junior players practiced this week at Barnes Tennis Center for intensive on-court training to be a part of the upcoming BNP Paribas Open ball kid crew at Indian Wells Tennis Garden. Tuesday night the Girls' Varisty basketball team won their first round playoff game again Preuss, 54-18.

Coronado Boy Reaches Goal of Winning his Age Group in the Valentine 10K

Village Elementary Jog-a-thon is Coming February 26 & 27

 

The annual Village Elementary Jog-a-thon is quickly approaching. Planned for Tuesday, February 26 at the Coronado High School track and Wednesday, February 27 at the ECDC, children from Kindergarten through Fifth grades will be jogging around the track for a total of thirty minutes.  Each student at Village Elementary is asked to gather pledges for their thirty minutes of jogging/walking.  The money raised helps fund classroom…

Elaborate pedestrian tube proposed for Coronado Bay Bridge

SAN DIEGO -  

San Diego County officials are examining an elaborate addition to the Coronado Bay Bridge -- a two-mile bike and pedestrian path suspended underneath the bridge.

Orange Ave Metric Century Bike Ride - February 10

The Crown City Cyclists, Sons and Daughters of Anarchy (Coronado Branch), and members of the Bicycle Advisory Committee are doing a metric century (62 miles) on Orange Avenue this Sunday morning starting at 7:00 a.m. from Spreckel's Park at 6th & Orange.  It's 25 laps.

Coronado to add bike parking despite opposition

SAN DIEGO – A new plan to add bike parking on Orange Avenue in Coronado is getting mixed reviews.

The program is supposed to make the island more bike-friendly and if it goes well it may roll into other parts of the county.
