Exciting News from PAWS, and a Request

We have such exciting news to share with you all! In the early spring of this year, PAWS was invited to enter into negotiations with the City of Coronado to assume the management and operation of the Coronado Animal Care Facility (CACF).

The negotiations were kept confidential to allow both sides the ability to freely discuss if such a step would be in the best interests of the City, PAWS, the Coronado residents and of course our relinquished and abandoned cats and…

It's a Cat-astrophe!

A freak kitten season has deposited many kittens into the Coronado Animal Care Facility.

Although there have been rumors of a water spout depositing adult cats at the facility, the staff tells us that the truth is that too many people are relinquishing or abandoning their cats. Between that and the kittens, we are over run with felines!

The cat community rooms at the facility are feline-infested. Thankfully, PAWS of Coronado has the “Friendliest Paws in San Diego…

Can You Help Save a Cat's Life? Meet Cal

Cal is one very cool cat and is what we would term a “turnkey” cat. He is as friendly and affectionate as he is handsome. Cal comes out to meet every visitor with enthusiasm and is extremely generous with his head butts and allorubs. It is obvious that this guy thinks people are great.

Cal’s build is like a feline football player – he has a big head and a thick, muscular neck that he enjoys having massaged. Having lived outdoors, he has a few scars from his…

PAWS of Coronado Cat of the Week: Black Beauty

Thea and three other kitten companions were found by a PAWS volunteer outside of the Barber Shop on Orange Ave. They were humanely trapped and brought into the ACF. They have all been adopted except for Thea.

  • Thea is a little shy when she first meets new people, preferring to carefully size people up before snuggling.
  • Once Thea warms up, she enjoys pets and affection from her human friends. It doesn’t take much to get her purring.
  • Thea also gets along…
