Everything Is Set For New Year's Eve Embarcadero Jump

Despite foggy conditions, a record jump in tandem by stunt riders Levi Lavallee and Temecula resident Robbie Maddison will go on as scheduled at San Diego’s Embarcadero tonight at 9pm.

They will attempt to jump the 300-foot opening that takes boaters from the Embarcadero Marina to San Diego Bay.

Family Gets $17.8M in Deadly Marine Corps Jet Crash -

Recordings of conversations between federal air controllers and the pilot of the F/A-18D reveal that the pilot at least twice was offered a chance to put down the plane at the Naval Air Station North Island in Coronado.

Coronado Woman Bakes / Delivers 35+ Rum Cakes to Coronado Fire Department



Thought this might be a fun picture to share with readers.  As background -- for many years Councilwoman Patty Schmidt ordered locally baked Rum Cakes and had them delivered to the Firehouse and City Hall around Christmas time.  This year Robbins Crehore Kelly (far right in above photo) continued the tradition in Patty’s memory by baking 35+ rum cakes for all the firemen and support staff at the Coronado Fire Department as well as a large cake for staff at City Hall.  This…

Coronado Hires Interim Public Services Director

CHS Students Raise Money for a Borehole Water Well Project in Uganda



The Coronado High School Islanders for Quench and Connect Club held a Harvest dinner for 65 guests at the Coronado Yacht Club on Sunday, November 20th. The dinner was well attended by teachers from CHS, the club members families, and residents of Coronado.
