Starbucks Coronado- What do you think?

Hey Neighbors!

Have you noticed a decline in the customer service at our local Starbucks? What happened?

The barista was snotty to me today. So sad... one of my favorite things about our lovely community is that we are all so friendly and courteous to each other.

Comment by Brian on April 7, 2012 at 7:43pm: I have to agree that it is the SLOWEST! I don't really care if you are friendly or not, you're a fast food coffee shop...serve the coffee quickly. I usually go to Clayton's, better coffee and quicker service.

Comment by Jamie Monroe on April 7, 2012 at 7:49pm: Yep, in the am before work, I'll either go to Clayton's bc they are efficient or the Starbucks in Mira Mesa by Qualcomm, which has to be the busiest Starbucks in San Diego, but you always have your drink in less than 5 minutes.

Comment by Mary Anderson on April 7, 2012 at 8:58pm: Our Starbucks is rather slow at times and it never seems clean to me. From outside to in, it needs some TLC and better management. It surprises me that the Coronado Starbucks is the first Starbucks to apply for a liquor license. Why does Starbucks need a liquor license. That will open a whole new set of problems.

Comment by Madison W. on April 8, 2012 at 5:49am: Extremely slow, I've been in Starbucks on the east coast and have a drink whether it be frozen or hot within 3 minutes. At the Orange Avenue location, it seems as though when they take orders, there is about a five minute turn around before they even start preparing my order as the employees tend to be chatty with each other first before helping the customer. The Starbucks at North Island is awesome! I'm sorry that more people in this community cannot access the base to enjoy a more friendly and quick Starbucks.

Comment by NadoCays on April 9, 2012 at 6:59am: My friend and I were there Saturday morning and there were only 2 serving coffee. They should have more staffing during the weekend and early morning on work days.

Comment by The Bungalow Spa on April 9, 2012 at 9:20am: Noticed it more than a year ago and thankfully Clayton's has the side window. Aside from the summer months, they're quick, the order is usually right and zero attitude. Plus, a cup of brew is a buck! And more than that, helping to grow and sustain a local business makes me happy!

Comment by Angel Butcher on April 9, 2012 at 9:55am: Starbucks here in Coronado can be a little slow at times. I think it has more to do w/ the tourists having bigger orders than normal. They are in need of employees, hence the hiring event that they have listed in their store.

Personally, I think everyone could be nicer, whether they work in Starbucks or not.

Comment by Colby Erickson on April 9, 2012 at 10:21am: I agree...it is a terrible Starbucks, I tend to go just because my grandma sends me gift cards in the mail. They have the worst service and need to hire an entire new staff! The other day 3 of them were standing around chatting and putting stickers on pastries...and as the line grew bigger and bigger,they continued to chat and doodle around. They are rude employees and hopefully before the summer crowds come to the island they can figure something out..until that happens...1143, Tartine or Clayton's it is! Which is a good thing..I think we would ALL rather support our local peps anyway!
