Friends coming for a 30 Year Anniversary- Where to stay?

I have some of my daughters friend coming for their 30 year anniversary.  Any suggestions for a reasonable place to stay for a long weekend and ideas for activities?

Hi Fred! The eCoronado.com Hotels page is definitely worth checking out, pricing and and info is all on there.

There is a lot on the Things to Do page as well.

Since I don't live on the island, just always visiting, renting bikes is really fun. Not everywhere is so bike friendly and fun! I hope the weather stays beautiful for them.

I did the the hotel/inn tour last year.  I would recommend 1906 Lodge, very quaint place.  Concerts in the park are always great for entertainment and socializing

I second Brian's suggestion of 1906 Lodge.  It's beautiful and romantic, while being close to shops and restaurants and fairly close to the beach.  They also provide a nice spread for breakfast.  I expected them to be expensive, but they are actually quite reasonable.

Fred, tell them to contact me and I'll give them a good deal!  We just were named a Top 10 Inn for Romance in the US  by ILoveInns.com.  My innkeepers know all the most romantic tables and booths at the local restaurants and will gladly make their dinner reservations.  We can also do a romance package for them with champagne, roses and chocolates!

The Glorietta Bay Inn is by far the most beautiful lodging place on Coronado. I LOVE the Hotel Del, but it's large, busy, commercial, noisy and the rooms have been updated to look very similar to a Hilton or Hampton Inn. The Glorietta Bay Inn is lovely, charming, friendly, historic and in my humble opinion, perfect. You can't do better, and it's walking distance to everything great on this island, of which there's a lot. Activities would have to include the following:

A day at the beach

Wandering the Hotel Del shops and the shops on Orange Ave

Mexican food at Miguels (best food on the island)

Concert at the ferry landing

Ferry across and go to the Maritime Museum, Midway or Seaport Village

A play at Lambs Players (mandatory) (best theater anywhere)

A movie at the Village Theater. (completely updated inside and it's stunning)

Walk the island and view all the lovely homes and gardens.

Enjoy!
