How great is it to have a local bike shop rather than a chain store?

It was July 3rd at 5:30 pm.  I realized my wife's bike needed a tube replacement (for the last month but I never got around to it).  With tomorrow being the Fourth of July, and the only good way to get around the Island on the Fourth is by bike, I was in a dilemma.  I knew Hollands closed at 6pm but thought, "lets give it a shot".  I packed her bike in the back of the Suburban and headed to Holland's Bicycles on Orange.

Instead of saying "were closing in 20 minutes and we cant get it repaired", they took the bike in and had it ready the next morning when they opened.  And it was!

In bad economic times like we are now in, it's the companies like Holland's, giving 110% customer service, that will survive and thrive!

Thanks Holland's!

I love the level of service that Holland's provides and their can-do attitude. I'm amazed that the "other" bike shop is still open...I don't hear great stories about them or see them donating a bike to seemingly every charity event in town. Holland's is truly an integral part of this community!

I love Holland's too and, for all you military folks, a flash of your ID gets you a 10% discount.  Thanks for running a great community friendly business!!

My husband stopped by to drop off his bike for a tune-up and they did it right there on the spot in about 8 minutes - with a smile.  Great service.

I went in through the ally the other day with my squeaky old bike. There were bikes and people everywhere. It looked like Santa's workshop!  I was asked right away what I needed and I told them about my squeaky brakes. They cleaned up my tires, filled them with air and sent me on my way - all better!!  Thanks Holland's! You are the BEST!
