Grand Opening of the Calypso Cafe in The Coronado Cays

Saturday, August 7th., was the Grand Opening of the Calypso Cafe featuring a ribbon cutting ceremony by Mayor Casey Tanaka, of Coronado accompanied by a display of delicious gourmet taste treats served buffet style by the new restaurant's lovely hostess, Hannan. Local home and boat owners along with many Coronado residents were delighted by the uniquely refreshing and healthy taste temptations, and serenaded by the classic easy listening music of "Take Two", the newest local band from San Diego.
The celebration went well into the evening past the gorgeous sunset on the Cays Marina with the sweet music echoing across the water. If you visit the Silver Strand you have to visit this treasure in the Coronado Cays and treat yourself to the surprisingly low priced gourmet fare served by this new Mom & Pop cafe nestled on the water around the corner from the Coronado Cays Yacht Club. A true culinary gem!

From quick snacks to elegant fare they have it all...and a great chef to boot! Hannan, you have built something to be proud of - and we are lucky to have it right here in the Cays.
