This past Friday, The Coronado Chamber of Commerce held it's 35th Annual Christmas Parade on Orange Ave. It was very entertaining with great performances from local dance teams and marching bands, among other displays. Here are some highlights from the parade.

Boy, that brings back memories! My dad was a fireman and in 1956, I think, my brother Bob and I got to ride on the fire truck with Santa from the fire station to the Christmas Tree! I still remember the thrill!

It brings back the years I waited in line at Christmas Tree in my little 'fur' coat to tell Santa what I wanted for Christmas. Santa gave every child a box of candy. Remember?

Aleene, I had the white rabbit fur headband and 'muff'' that I put my hands in. Wish I still had them, but sure don't need them where I am now...Oman!

Debi, we wear sweatshirts for warmth these days. Stay cool where you are now and come back to Coronado someday. Of all the places I've lived (in the U.S.) this is the best!

Aleene, I can only hope to retire to Coronado. I was born there and lived there for 11 wonderful formative years. I returned in the 10th grade and then left again 2 years later. I'm now with the State Department and go where they send me...but mandatory retirement is racing toward me. I doubt I could afford the housing there. Anyone need a professional house sitter?? :)
