Beach N Diner Closed - Leroy's Lucky Lounge to Open Summer 2011

UPDATE:  Leroy's is open!

Editor's Note:  This message was received from NadoLife.  We are excited for the change and looking forward to bringing you more information about Leroy's Lucky Lounge as it is available.  Stay tuned!

=================

After six successful and fun years, we have closed the doors to Beach N Diner.

We have decided that a change in concept would better fill the potential of 1015 Orange Avenue.

With all of our restaurants, we have tried to bring something new and exciting to Coronado. Leroy’s Lucky Lounge will be no exception. With the addition of a liquor license and a planned opening in March Summer 2011, we will specialize in Urban Eclectic Food from sustainable natural sources as well as Cocktails and Craft beers from around the world! Leroy’s Lucky Lounge is about great food – without being expensive or fancy -- made with passion and the freshest ingredients for the most prominent flavor paired with “stiff” drinks and good wine! Our menu is intended to be exciting, unexpected and most of all fresh and flavorful. Overall, we hope to provide a place for our guests to relax and dine in good company.

We are excited for this opportunity to reinvent ourselves and thank our community for their support during this change.

@Priscilla, Restaurant.com will be contacting anyone who purchased a certificate for Beach n' Diner.  You should receive an email from them in the next few days offering a refund, or you can call 1-800-979-8985.  However, if you have any issues please let us know and we will honor it!

I hope the new venue serves the Mac-n-Cheese with fried chicken. My son loves it...

I agree with Lina. Very cheesy name and sounds like a low end dive. Not Coronado at all. Ugh!

We are sorry to see it go. :( It doesn't sound kid friendly anymore. Bummer. It was a favorite for all my kids.

To quote my daughter "It's not fair!"

@Chad, Closing the Diner was a difficult decision to make and we can definitely appreciate your concern.  But I can promise you that Leroy's WILL have a kid's menu and we intend to make it as family friendly as possible.  This will NOT be a bar with a restaurant, but rather a restaurant with a bar.

I'm glad to see the change.  I appreciate eating locally grown sustainable foods with good wine as opposed to fried food and a coke.  I look forward to checking it out.

@ Lina Douglas.. Yes.. how wonderful would "Emerald Lounge" be.. FUN!

@Amelia-Marie Altstadt.. I agree Stretches is Yummy.. and we were repeat customers awhile back due to the great food.. but the service is just so awful, that we just can't bare to support businesses with that service.. would rather support and be patrons at many of the other fabulous Coronado spots that seam to be more deserving.. but I do wish they do a little restaurant - staff & service revamp and I'd go back for sure!

We love eating outside and Beach N Diner was great for chatting with folks strolling on the Avenue.  We'll just have to get used to the changes that come with progress.

Very sad to see beach n diner go :( I tried to take a friend from Seattle there over the weekend and saw it all boarded up. The california eggs benedict was so wonderful for us vegetarians who like to eat something other than a "veggie omelet." It was so nice to be able to bring the kids too. Anyone know if the new place is going to offer breakfast food? I never ate anything else at the beach n diner so I don't know how the other food was, but that benedict was sooooo good. Wish I could remember what all they put in it (avocado, spinach, and something else I think instead of the traditional meat). Yum. Had to tell my hubby who is on deployment that his favorite breakfast place is gone :(

on Nov 18, 2010 I bought a gift certificate to Beach 'n Diner to use during my family's planned visit at the end of January 2011. It was a big surprise to find Beach 'n Diner closed in mid-January 2011. My dining certificate has no expiration date. Given that the Lounge will be owned by the owners of the late Beach 'n Diner, am I correct in assuming that my dining certificate will be good when the Lounge opens?
