Which Wich to Take Over Chance Bistro Location - Opening Planned for Fall 2011

Chance Bistro restaurant has packed up and closed their doors to the public as of today.  We have been informed that a Which Wich will be opening in Fall at the 926 Orange Avenue location.  Dennis and Maggie Holland are the Coronado locals behind these 'Superior Sandwiches'.  They own and operate all of the San Diego locations and this will be their fourth Which Wich that they have opened.  The other San Diego locations are in Hillcrest, Pacific Beach and Carlsbad.

Congratulations to Dennis and Maggie Holland for bringing this business to Coronado.

Yelp consistently ranks their restaurants with high marks of 4 out of 5 stars.

Here is an overview according to their website:

Superior Sandwiches
Which Wich® Superior Sandwiches is committed to creating the best sandwiches available. We offer more than 50 varieties of customizable “wiches,” from the signature Wicked®, loaded with five meats (turkey, ham, roast beef, pepperoni, and bacon) and three cheeses, to unique items such as Thank You Turkey®, with stuffing and cranberry sauce. The Which Wich menu also includes plenty of vegetarian options and several healthy wiches for less than 400 calories each. Even the extras are held to high standards: signature house chips, hand-dipped shakes, and just-out-of-the-oven cookies are as superior as the sandwiches.

YES!!! I recently tried the one in Hillcrest and it was amazing - I've been dying to go back. Families and picky eaters will love this place; you can't go wrong when you can create your own sandwich. Definitely a welcome addition to Coronado!

Didn't realize Chance Bistro was closing.  Always up for new restaurants though - lots of turn-over in that regard here lately!

I have a gift certificate for $75.00 from Chance Bistro.  Am I just out of luck or would the new owners make it good.

I have a $25 dollar gift cert as well, I just won it somewhere last week!  Aren't the Chance owners also owners somewhere else?! Candelas maybe?!

I have gift certs as well. Anyone help? The past owner is the brother of the current owner of Firehouse I understand. Is there a CA consumer law about such things?

Has Chance Bistro moved or vanished? Sad-was a little   Duplicated businesses(sanwiches) hurt already established businesses. Proposed Walgreens rendering too "Modern'', too blah(white), and too high. Anyone checking the planning commitee?
