Walgreens Submits Design Review Application to City of Coronado

Can we finally put the rumors to rest and expect a Walgreens to open in Coronado? Walgreen Co. has filed an application for Design Review of the Home Federal Building (where Petco once was, at 925 Orange Avenue) for a redesign of the building's exterior. No further information has been provided at this time.

That is too bad, I was hoping for a Trader Joe’s or Fresh & Easy, there are already enough pharmacies in this town. It would be nice to have something that we actually need.

I don't see how adding a Walgreens on Orange is going to contribute positively to Coronado as it is only going to take away from existing businesses. I would love to see a business go in that provides a good or service that is not currenly being fulfilled or at least one that adds to the small town charm of Orange Ave.

Bummer, I was hoping for a Trader Joes too!

Ditto to Molly Cooper's comment.  I feel exactly the same way, and Walgreens seems to big of a commercial business for our small town.

Agreed - I even wrote to Trader Joe's and asked them to consider the location!  What a wonderful addition that would be to Coronado!!
