Delux Dogs in One Month: Begin Countdown Mode

Everybody has been questioning the opening date for the anxiously awaited new hot dog restaurant, Delux Dogs, located on 943 Orange Avenue. During a recent interview with owners, Kirsten Bertz and James McGee, they explained their delay and are looking towards a March 1st Grand Opening!

As for the delay, the restaurant had to be up to code, and getting permits, etc. took longer than originally expected. But hey, it’s said that good things come to those who wait! The place is coming along nicely. Attention to detail is evident from the color scheme to the kitchen setup and even the hardware.

Kirsten and James have been longtime friends and this is their first time as business partners. Kirsten, having grown up in Chicago, has a grown up with hot dogs because of her family’s love for Portillo’s, the famous hot dog the restaurant. James, on the other hand, is from Arizona, so not much influence from that, though he loves hot dogs and has many years of experience in the restaurant business.

What makes Delux Dogs so special is that you can’t get anything like it anywhere else in Coronado; it’s a very unique concept. They’ll delight customers with a menu filled with nothing but the best, in quality and variety!

For the vegetarian or weight watcher customer, there will surely be options to go for. James said there will be great salads, and you can choose your toppings so you can control your portions!

Local delivery and catering will be available once the restaurant opens and things get more settled in. There will also be special deals for high school students during their lunchtime crunch.
