Happy Hour at Starbucks?

If approved, Coronado will be the first Starbucks location in California to sell beer and wine.  Alcoholic items were first sold in some of their Seattle stores back in October 2010.  There will also be an extended menu of food to accompany the new drinks.

This sounds great! I'm excited for our local Starbucks to expand their evening menu. Starbucks has always been one of my favorite places to meet with friends and family, and now the new addition of wine and small plates makes it even better!

I will drink to that, Starbucks!

I could live with that!

I was so excited when I received the "warning" letter from ABC; it's even better to see the sign in the window!

No thank you. We really don't need another place on Orange to serve alcohol, do we? Changes the atmosphere completely at night.

I agree with Lisa. There are plenty of places in town to get beer and wine. I know many people who go there that are recovering alcoholics that felt at ease there. Serving beer and wine is not a good idea at a coffee shop.  Just saying.

Selfishly I like the idea of drinking a beer anywhere. But our Coronado Starbucks has been one of the few "cool" places our Middle and High school kids have always loved to visit and hang out in.  Even doing a little homework in.  My Dad is also one of those guys who has attended meetings at the Alcohol Anonymous or Alonon facility right behind the Starbucks and those people seem to grasp at this coffee shop regularly.

But it's not my right to limit a businessman from making a profit if he's doing so legally.

Oh good, another place serving alcohol on Orange Avenue.  We need this why?

I like the salad bar idea!
