CSF Connect-a-Thon Raises Over $150,000 for Coronado Schools

This past Thursday, the Coronado community joined together in support of the Coronado school system and raised a whopping $151,549!

The Connect-a-Thon, which took place this past Thursday, was the first ever student-produced telethon.  Coronado High School’s Digital Media class and Coronado Middle School’s KCMS broadcast team joined forces to make this event possible.  KCMS member Jack Balfour said, “My favorite part about working on the Connect-a-Thon was using all of the high-tech equipment at the high school.  I felt like the KCMS team and the Digital Media class were working together as a team, which was great.”

Needless to say, this year’s telethon was enjoyed by all.  Coronado High School sophomore Erica Flores said, “My favorite part of the Connect-a-Thon was seeing my friends at the event and seeing some performing on stage.  I thought the whole thing was really well put together.”

Silver Strand fifth graders performed a traditional colonial dance on stage.

Coronado Middle School Choir and Performing Arts classes, taught by Ms. Binns and Ms. Kullman, performed a rendition of "ABC."

Coronado Art students provided face painting for Connect-a-Thon guests.  The event also featured cake walks, karaoke, a dunk tank, a barbecue dinner, and carnival games.

My girls and I enjoyed our first Connect-a-thon and are so very grateful to all those who donated money to CSF...it goes directly to benefit our children's schools!  Thank you to everyone who made it happen, too.  And, OBTW, the Sixth grade flash mob ROCKED the house...:)
