1906 Lodge's gardens provided a beautiful backdrop for a recent wedding party.
The American Society of Landscape Architects recently held its annual meeting in San Diego. In conjunction with that meeting, the Landscape Architect & Specifier News (LASN) highlighted local San Diego landscape architect firms in their October issue. The 1906 Lodge was the featured project in David Reed Landscape Architects’ profile.
LASN “applauds the role of landscape architects in designing beautiful, functional and sustainable landscapes for people to enjoy.” David Reed worked hand in hand for months with the owner and the renovation/new construction architect, Bushman Dreyfus of Charlotteville, Virginia to provide an integrated design including brick driveways, flatwork, reflection pool, fountains, trellises, fencing, site furnishings, lighting and landscaping in the Arts and Crafts style.
Opened in May of 2009, the 1906 Lodge’s landscape has now matured to fulfill the shared vision. Guests of the intimate 17 room hotel particularly enjoy partaking of breakfast or afternoon wine from the back veranda overlooking the garden courtyard. The two water features provide gentle background “music” to enhance the relaxing atmosphere of the property.

To view the beautiful gardens, stop by the 1906 Lodge when you're in the neighborhood at 1060 Adella Avenue (across from the US Post Office).
If you peek through the keyhole opening in the fence on "A" Avenue, you can see the back courtyard.
