5.9 Earthquake Felt on Coronado & San Diego


A 5.9 5.7 earthquake just hit Southern California at 9:26pm Monday night. I was in my Coronado home writing tomorrow's newsletter when the house started shaking. There were two big jolts and then it stopped.


Stay tuned for additional updates. No damage reported at the time of this post.

It was a 5.9 magnitude today at 21:26:58 with the epicenter located 8 kilometers (5 miles) southeast of Ocotillo, CA according to www.usgs.gov. As an active member of Coronado Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) and Coronado Emergency Radio Operators (CERO), I urge everyone to be prepared by making a family disaster plan now.

I remember the earthquake in the early 2000's....I went right out and bought as an emergency pack and a lot of food and water to store away
