Dear e-coronado friends,

I get a lot of questions about our karate program, how it differs from other programs and how to determine if it's right for you or your child. So I put together this letter and I hope it helps. In any event feel free to email me at: Sensei@CoronadoKarate.com if you have any questions.

Many families at our karate school have discovered that the martial arts can do some amazing thinks for their child but it cannot do everything!

What Karate WON'T Do for Your Child...

Admittedly, the "Martial Arts America" program won't do everything for your child.

It is NOT the right program if you are interested in heavy-duty, combat self-defense.

It is NOT the right program if you want your child to be a Karate tournament competitor.

It is NOT the right program if you want your child to study Eastern religion or philosophy.

So -- what WILL "Martial Arts America" do for your child?

1. The "Martial Arts America" program will teach your child everything he or she needs to know to be safe. Our safety strategies are designed to prevent your child from being picked on or seen as a likely target in the first place.

2. We use a physical fitness program that focuses on the athletic fundamentals: stamina, agility, and body balance. We will be teaching your child how to shift body weight -- so he or she can move with speed and power.

3. However, it's the third area of emphasis that I believe parents like best. This is the part that works on the Self-Esteem skills of the Martial Arts: the self-confidence; the self-discipline; the listening skills; the respect and the good manners; the courage and the perseverance.

And what is really powerful about our program is that we are not just teaching your child about these skills. Rather, we are constructing situations where your child will be actually experiencing these skills.

He or she will then be coached in using these skills at school and at home.

And in your child's own self-image, he or she will be empowered to take on any of life's challenges more successfully.

And, last but not least, our program is FUN. It's not the harsh, militaristic method that you will see at most Martial Art schools. Our teachers are wonderful people. The classes are fun, and it makes it easy for your child to learn.

If you have questions about whether "Martial Arts America" might benefit you and your child, call me at

619-435-8223.

The following offer is a great way to start and I am sending it only to e-coronado friends:
