Act of Valor Movie Opens Tomorrow (2/24/12) at Village Theatre

Act of Valor opens this Friday, February 24th at Coronado's Village Theatre.  Although it hits close to home for many here in Coronado, we are excited to experience it and be reminded of our real-life heros - many of them are deeply connected to our community.

The characters in this film are portrayed by active duty U.S Navy SEALs.  You can learn more about the cast and crew at IMDB.

Here is the trailer:

Had the opportunity to see "Act of Valor" this afternoon and I must say, beyond the gunfire and things being blown-up scenes, the movie was not good at all. Knowing that a number of the people in the movie are U.S. Naval personnel and not actors, you want to "cut them some slack" for their lack of acting skills, yet they were so bad that it really detracted from what little of a convoluted story-line that the movie contained.

I saw Act of Valor this past weekend. It was truly stunning to see the SEALs in action. I am a Coronado native living on the east coast and seeing my hometown and the very special men of the Team made me proud and a bit homesick. I really am so tired of the critics giving the movie a bad read due to the fact that the men in the movie are not AKTORS. I do not think there is a group of AKTORS who could be trained enough to even attempt to do these amazing skills portrayed by the Team. Bravo to all involved and thank you to the SEALS for being there when we need them no matter what!
