Perhaps best known for his portrayals of Quentin Collins on Dark Shadows and Richard Channing on Falcon Crest, David Selby was born and raised in Morgantown, West Virginia. He received B.S. and M.A. degrees from West Virginia University and a Ph.D. from Southern Illinois University. Selby's poetry collections include In and Out of the Shadows, My Mother's Autumn, and Happenstance. A Better Place combines memoir and social commentary. His latest works are the novel The Blue Door and My Shadowed Past, an autobiographical piece focusing on Dark Shadows and its social context.
David Selby plans to participate in the Dark Shadows Festival's Dark Shadows Island Weekend to be held April 27-28, 2013 in Coronado.
The event will take place over two days in two different locations.
On Saturday, April 27, a premiere event will be held at the Coronado Village Theatre for Dr. Mabuse, a new psychological thriller featuring Dark Shadows alums Jerry Lacy (Rev. Trask), Lara Parker (Angelique), and Kathryn Leigh Scott (Maggie Evans).
On Sunday, April 28, a Dark Shadows Luncheon will be held at the Coronado Island Marriott Resort. Scheduled guests include the actors mentioned above as well as Christopher Pennock (Jeb Hawkes) and David Selby. David is planning a special presentation for the event.
