Applications for Coronado School of the Arts Due February 8th

CoSA is located on the CHS campus (above)

If you’re passionate about the arts and entering grades nine through twelve next autumn, take advantage of the incredible experience offered by Coronado School of the Arts and apply by February 8th! CoSA, a “school within a school,” is composed of six different conservatories: musical theater/drama, visual art, dance, digital media, instrumental music and technical theater. CoSA artists are taught by faculty with professional experience and have the opportunity to develop their skills for use in a real-world industry. After academic classes at CHS, students spend about three hours a day taking intensive courses in their department of choice and are released from school at 4:30pm. Applications for CoSA, depending on the department, include some combination of an essay, interview, audition or portfolio of past work. Though admission is competitive, CoSA has been consistently growing since its opening in 1996 and currently caters to over 200 students. Today, the program boasts a wide variety of awards and accolades, ranging from the National Youth Arts Award for “Outstanding Production” to the Golden Bell Award for the Performing and Visual Arts. Applications are open to students that live across the bridge as well as on island.
