Biking For Brains - Riding accross America to raise Awareness and Support for Traumatic Brain Injury

We have now ridden 15 days,  1775 miles and climbed 59,400 feet.  We have visited 6 of our nine planned states and stayed in 16 of 26 hotels and, fortunately, had no additional visits to the ER.  We are enjoying our second and final rest day in Fort Smith, AK before we begin riding the final 10 consecutive days to Savannah, GA.  We will complete this adventure on Friday, May 18th.

I am really excited about several accomplishments.  First, WWP has  received almost $25,000 versus our goal of $30,000 with more contributions and commitments coming each day.  Thank you for your generosity.  In particular, Pilot Freight Services just contributed $10,000 from their company's  "Fundraiser Gambling Night".  All of the contributions will make an impact on those affected by Traumatic Brain Injury, particularly our Wounded Warriors.  Second,  we continue to educate people on the seriousness and particular needs of people affected by Traumatic Brain Injuries.  Third, employees at Oceanside Glasstile US and Mexico facilities, plus the students at Old Town Academy has done an excellent job in accumulating more miles than me during my ride.  I am blown away with the amazing healthy excersize being done by these three groups each day.  These healthy people have accumulated over 2,500 miles in two short weeks.  The only down side is that I may loose this challenge.  I hate to loose.  Maybe, I should complete the ride and turn around and ride back home!

I have continued to document my fun travels in a daily blog on http://www.bikingforbrains.com. You all find some facts, personal perspectives, biking lessons and pictures accumulated daily.  Login once in a while and see the Biking For Brains progress as I ride toward Savannah.

For those of you who have contributed, thanks you!.  If you would like to contribute, here is the link to donate directly to the Wounded  Warrior Project (501 3C).

Thanks for your continued support and awareness of those affected by Traumatic Brain Injury.

As a "die-hard roady" who cannot ride at the time because of a head injury, I'm cheering for you!  With any luck at all, the dizzy spells and vertigo will go away & I'll maybe see you out on the road soon!  LOVE the pics!

Chuck;

I am back in town around the end of May.  Let's get together and get a coffee.
