Hello friends,     WE NEED THREE MORE HOMES
Chinese college students are coming to Coronado Saturday, July 14 thru Saturday August 4th and we are looking for host homes plugged into a local churches. This is an opportunity to do a summer outreach project without ever leaving Coronado!  If you or someone you know is interested in hosting a student or two - please email me and I will get you more information.

It is going to be a fun cross-cultural experience for our community and the host families!  I am just getting student information back now - so far four are college graduate students and two are graduating professionals - looking forward to leadership training, American culture, and experiencing church!

This is not just an exchange program - a San Diego based outreach organization, Bring Me Hope (.org), takes Americans for one, two, or three weeks trips to China to provide summer camps (VBS) for orphans in the Chinese orphanage system.  Some of these kids will spend their entire lives in the orphanage, and these camps change their lives and give them hope, and love.  In the process, college students act as translators for the American volunteers and have expressed an interest in visiting America (and especially being involved in our churches and B studies).  Last year Bring Me Hope started with 10 - this year 60 applied! 

Some of you may want to get your small groups together and go to China and lead VBS for orphans - GREAT!  But, some can't make the trip - but, you can still be involved by hosting the translators right here!  BMH's program is called "GLO" - Grow and Learn Overseas. Check it out at http://glohomestay.com/ This year we may only have 6 students in Coronado...but, who knows what the Lord has planned for next year in our community?! :-)  My vision would be to see families from all different churches around the Island come together - join us!

We will be conducting classes for them, taking them to local sites, enjoying San Diego - the host families are invited to all activities.  Its a good time to learn a little Mandarin and use chopsticks - and learn what Hot Pot is!
