CHS Lacrosse: Coronado turns tables on the Mavs

Editor's Note: Way to go CHS boys lacrosse! Congratulations!

LA MESA – It took Bobby Braun all of 17 seconds to roll his eyes and think, “Oh, boy. Here we go again.”

Braun was on the field for Coronado in last year's section boys lacrosse championship, which the Islanders lost 15-5 to La Costa Canyon.

But in a rematch last night at Helix High, Braun had a revelation after the Islanders fell behind 1-0 just 17 seconds into the contest.

“We're a different team this year,” Braun said. “We've worked too hard and come too far.”

The top-seeded Islanders rebounded and went on to a 9-4 victory, claiming the first lacrosse title in school history. They are the first school outside the North County Conference to win a boys title.
