CORONADO, CA (December 19, 2012) – Most non-public safety facilities in the City of Coronado will be closed on Christmas Day, Tuesday, December 25, and on New Year’s Day, Tuesday, January 1, 2013.

Coronado Police and Fire will be staffed for the holidays. Public Services will be on call to respond to emergencies. Here are the holiday hours for City of Coronado departments and services:

  • The Coronado Public Library will be open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Christmas Eve, Monday, December 24, and on New Year’s Eve, Monday, December 31, but will be closed on Christmas Day and on New Year’s Day.
  • Residential trash collection service by EDCO will not be performed on Christmas Day and New Year’s Day, and as a result, there will be a one day residential delay in service. EDCO will have curbside Christmas tree collection in single-family residential zones. Collection will occur on normal trash collection days between December 26 and January 16, 2013. Trees must be cut into four-foot lengths and placed in the green waste containers. Drop-off containers also are available during the same period at the Glorietta Bay Boat Launching Ramp parking lot and the Coronado Cays parking lot near the fire station. 
  • Street sweeping will not be performed on Christmas Day and on New Year’s Day.
  • The Community Center and Aquatic Center will close at 4 p.m. on Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve, and will be closed on Christmas Day and New Year’s Day.
  • The Club Room and Boathouse hours vary. The Club Room is closed Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and New Year’s Day. The Boathouse is closed for afternoon hours on Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve. It will be closed on Christmas Day and during the morning hours on New Year’s Day.
  • The Skatepark will be open from 1 p.m. until dusk on Christmas Eve, New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day. The Skatepark is closed Christmas Day.
  • The Coronado Tennis Center scheduling center will be closed Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and New Year’s Day.
  • The Coronado Municipal Golf Course is open on Christmas Day and New Year’s Day.
