My grandparents lived in Coronado in 1949. I'm a previous longtime resident of Coronado and active visitor. I've restored a few slide film photographs that my grandparents captured of Orange Ave, The Beach and The Boathouse. I wanted to share these with y'all and would love to hear the historians here share any information they can share about the stories in these images.

Thank you for sharing! I loved the photos!
These are great old photos. Thank you so much for sharing them.
Comment by Vincent John Flynn on July 16, 2012 at 11:15am Those are excellent photos! Thanks for posting them, brings back my childhood. Note the Rainbow Fleet at the boat house and also, the median on Orange is better now with the lawn. We used to put pennies on the streetcar track than ran down the center.
Comment by Maureen (Rutherford) Nieland on July 16, 2012 at 8:11pm I was born and raised in Coronado, and love the old pictures. I was 3 yrs. old at the time..And Vincent, I remember putting the pennys there as well. I thought it was the old train tracks. It was one of the fun memories I remember.. We entertained ourselves better back then... :-) Fun times for sure..
