Thanks for the update. Any possibilty of being cancelled, like New Year's Eve, due to enviromental whackos?

Is the parade really on the 3rd?

Yes, it's on the 3rd.

I can't seem to find anything, but will there be a Navy Seal demonstration on the 4th of July for this year?
Comment by eCoronado on June 16, 2010 at 10:59pm
No demonstration by the SEALs this year. It was stopped after 9/11.

Please note, you can put your chairs/blankets, etc. in the median starting on 5am on the day of the parade. You are supposed to stay with your stuff and not leave it unattended. Good luck getting a spot...the early worm catches the parade!

I have attended every 4th of July in Coronado except for 1 when my sister got married and I had to stand in for my Dad who was ill at the time. Can't say I remember much of the real early ones ( OK I was 1) but nothing is better than the 4th of July in Coronado!

LOVE the parade, just not sure why it is on the 3rd of July instead of the 4th??? Anyone??

The City of Coronado has a long-standing agreement with all of the local Coronado churches to never have a 4th of July parade on a Sunday. Whenever it falls on a Sunday, the city usually has the parade on Saturday the 3rd instead.
