Coronado Adult Education’s Spring 2012 class schedule begins January 23. Classes are open to Coronado residents and residents of surrounding communities. We have a variety of exciting classes along with some new instructors this semester, and are pleased to offer the following new classes:
Introduction to Aviation taught by James Carney, Basics of Mosaic Art with Kirstin Green, Carving Caricatures and Whittle a Little taught by Vard Porter, Communicate With Ease… and Laughter taught by Akshay Sateesh, Cooking With Leiz taught by Leiz Bertram, Drawing & Painting Workshop/Open Studio with Karrie Jackson, Ebay Selling and Facebook Made Easy with Amy Stough, Everyone Can Cook… Italian! and Everyone Can Make… Sushi! taught by Miyuki Rogers, Introduction to Lathe Turning with Scott Lienhard, M.E.L.T. Method with Audrey Dill, Meditation for Life taught by Shaina Yedid, Open Water SCUBA with Jeff Bunker, Sketchbook Development with Louise Craigmile, Speak Chinese in 10 Easy Lessons taught by Melody Lu, Introduction to Stand Up Paddleboarding taught by Sammy Gonzales, Teen Money Matters with Jane Braun, and Wine With Paolo taught by Paolo Wakham.
Established courses are: Ceramics taught by Lee Puffer, Body Sculpting taught by Renee Cavanaugh, Italian with Paulo Wakham, Feng Shui for the New Year taught by Kathryn Holt, Ballet taught by Gina Sorensen – Gina is also teaching Everyday Yoga, Spanish I - IV with Lorena Baca. Also, Wedding & Event Planning taught by Joan Whalen, Zumba Fitness taught by Laura Webb, Nia Dance Fitness taught by Audrey Dill, Mat Pilates with Marena Bronson, Line Dance with Diane Rojas, Introduction to Lawn Bowling taught by Bill Hiscock at Coronado Lawn Bowling Club, Tennis with Allen Levin, Intro to American Sign Language taught by Claudia Mulcahy, Beginning Chain Maille Jewelry with Michelle Ryan, Excel I & II and How to Use Your Digital Camera with Will Cattell, Irish Story Songs taught by Jim Hinton, Knitting with Damaris Gonzalez, Retirement Planning today taught by Joe Anderson, Living Trusts & Estate Planning taught by Dianne Harmata, Photoshop Elements with Dan McGeorge.
In addition, we are offering the following social dance classes:
Ballroom Dancing, East Coast Swing and West Coast Swing.
Computer classes offered by Mark Rogers are:Computer/Internet Basic and Advanced, Computer Skills for Office Assistants Essential and Advanced, Intro to Word 2007 and Advanced Word 2007, and Web Design.
We also offer Independent Study, ESL, and a Men’s 40+ Basketball League, and Senior Aerobics.

For walk-in registration, hours are Monday-Thursday 8:00am-7:00pm, and Friday 8:00am-4:00pm (closed daily from 11:30am-12:30pm) at the Service Center located at 650 D Avenue.
